The Beginning was in Istanbul and it was there that the tour was concluded.
After we spent a night in a coastal hotel we motored onwards to Istanbul. Where possible we took a coastal route. The road disappeared from time to time and we seemed to be driving on the side of the mountain. This was adventurous driving for below us was the Marmara Sea.

Towards evening, low on petrol, we reached Istanbul. It was an anxious time. We were in the rush hour traffic and we hoped that the petrol would not run out before we reached our hotel. Luckily there was enough.

The followingday John and Penny flew out to Cypress. I remained behind and flew home to Manchester the following morning. Two weeks later i was back at work and the summer vacation was over.
